My Story
Mischa Marcus attended the University of Southern California’s SCA program before earning her degree in Screenwriting from Chapman University. She often focuses on telling women’s stories that are often swept under the rug. Her first feature film, I Am Still Here, was a breakthrough for her as a filmmaker, garnering over thirty festival awards and screening at over forty festivals around the globe. I Am Still Here is now screened at colleges and universities as an educational tool to help those pursuing careers in social work/social justice programs. The film also inspired the opening of a safe house for rescued Sex Trafficked youth in Oklahoma.
Her next project, the screenplay she co-wrote with her writing partner, Attention Whore, placed in the top 2% in the Austin Film Festival’s script competition within the drama category in 2019. When not writing her own original projects, Mischa likes to help other writers polish their work by offering script doctoring services.
